Remember this post of mine when I said I wanted to do individual cakes on each table that would double as the centerpiece? Well, things have changed!

It sounded like a good idea until I found out that our venue, nor baker, has enough cake stands for the 20+ tables that we will have at our reception. What started as a money-saver, turned into an expensive little idea once I factored in purchasing each of the cake stands!

When I made up my mind to do a large cake, I still wanted to do something a little different and after a bit of perusing on the internet, I happened to stumble upon this beauty that would add the perfect amount of sparkle on our (hopefully) snowy, December day.

At a wedding, I’ve said it over and over again and I’ll keep saying it, the sweets should be fun and not a course that should be served to each guest at their table. These mini treats are exactly what you want. They allow you to enjoy so many different flavors and have fun doing it. I learned something many years ago from a celebrity whose wedding I did; when doing sweets, you want to call it and look at it like you did “in the good ol’ days.” As a child, what did you eat? Did you have fun having sweets? The answer is yes, every child does. What did you eat? Look back at the cupcakes, the brownies, the lemon squares and the cookies and decorate them like they’re decorated in these photos with the influence and color scheme of your wedding, but most importantly in the style of the season. These yummy looking desserts are perfect for spring with their soft pastel colors.

For me, it is always difficult to envision how many people a cake will feed, but I happened to stumble upon a few visuals that can be very helpful.
