Back in June, Nick and I had a list of six venues to look at the day after our engagement party. The first venue on our list was Venuti’s, a place I had never even heard of but a stunning picture of a BREATHTAKING staircase in a bridal magazine drew me in! (If you read one of my older blogs – There’s Something Magical About A Staircase – you’ll know I have a thing for staircases!) We found that Venuti’s was conveniently located within a minute off the highway and near many hotels, that’s a big plus already! The outside alone was beautiful…
We were greeted by Karen, she was so friendly and it was so early in the morning! Her upbeat, bubbly attitude was contagious and after rubbing my tired eyes once more (we did just get done celebrating our engagement the night before, I was tired!) I was awake and excited! After sitting down for a few moments and getting the big stuff out of the way…what date we wanted, how many people…she escorted us over to the Venezia room! (because of our large party size, they’ll actually be expanding it and it will be even larger than what’s shown below)
And the ceiling changes colors!
When we went back into her office to talk more, we were offered mimosas or cappuccinos! Turns out by having our wedding in the winter, we got a few extra perks! We receive a martini bar, sweets table, and hors d’oeuvres as part of our package! I was sold! Nick still looked a little unsure. When said that having a premium open bar was very important to him, she reassured him and told him that of course that was part of their standard package! Sold! But this was still only the first place we went to, and our next stop was the one I DREAMED of having our wedding at, so we thanked her and took all the information with us. I think she could tell we were a little tired, she even offered us our cappuccinos to go (we gladly accepted!)
When we arrived at the next destination, it was just gorgeous as I remembered. I had been there before for some plays so I had known what to expect. The girl that greeted us looked even more tired that I did! She was so unenthused, and just looked like she’d rather be anywhere else than here. It really killed all my excitement that Karen stirred up for me. The longer we spent, the more I just wanted to leave. I thought myself, do I really want to plan the most important day of my life with this person? The answer was NO. We toured the rest of the venues that day and at the end of the day, Venuti’s (and Karen) was our choice! I called up Karen the next day and she was just as excited as I was! She had shown us a couple pictures of weddings that have taken place their in the holiday season and encouraged me to come back in the winter to see it with all the decorations, so I did! I revisited them today and here’s some of the pictures I took:
this is before the wall is opened up to expand to the two rooms
the stairs coming down from the bridal suite
we also got this room as a bonus with our package. we’ll probably set up the sweets table or photo booth (if we go with one) in there I imagine…
and the best for last!
