Bridal Buns

Posted on April 22, 2014 by  Miss Glitzy Bride   //   Comment

A bun is the perfect bridal up-do! Whether it is neat and polished, intentionally messy or intricate knots and braids, one thing is always true, the bigger the better! The bun is chic and stylish, but more importantly a wonderful way for the bride to put her best face forward. Not only is it a beautiful up-do, but on your big day you’ll appreciate having your hair out of your face and neatly tucked in place.

If you’re in need of wedding hairstyle that is elegant and practical, then the bun is a great option for you! I’ve rounded up my favorite bridal buns below. Will you bun it on your wedding day?

Wedding Hair Updos (and Downdos!)

Posted on September 27, 2013 by  Miss Romantic Bride   //   1 Comment

There are a few factors to consider when choosing your wedding day hairstyle.  For those with thinner hair like myself, clip-in extensions are a favorable option to add volume and length.  I haven’t decided yet, but I’m leaning towards a long Gatsby-esque side style! Of course, the classic updo with an optional jewel set or hair accessory is perfect for all hair types.

How will you wear your hair on your wedding day?

Half Up – Half Down

Posted on October 22, 2012 by  Miss Elegant Bride   //   1 Comment

I mentioned in an earlier post how I have always imagined that my hair would be half up-half down on my wedding day.  I am getting my hair done for a friends wedding so it will be a good test to see if my curls fall flat or if my hair frizzes during a night of celebrating!  Here are a few of the looks that I love!

All Up….Half Down

Posted on October 6, 2012 by  Miss Elegant Bride   //   1 Comment

I have always imagined my hair would be half up/half down for my wedding day.  However, I am in love with these updos!  (Not to mention the fact that humidity can cause me to look like I have been electrocuted which has caused me to second guess my vision.)  Tell me what you think….Check back soon and I will post some of my favorite half up/half down wedding looks!

My hairdresser (and good friend) has assured me that we will do as many trials as it takes to master the perfect wedding day “do”.  I love/trust my hairdresser and I know she will make me look beautiful whatever we decide to do!

Put a sock in it!

Posted on February 19, 2012 by  Miss Peacock Bride   //   Comment

It might be the Jersey girl in me, but I am really into the idea of a voluminous updo for the big day.   I have narrowed my desired wedding-day-do to something similar to B’s sophisticated updo.

Unfortunately, my hair-styling skills are a bit on the amateur level and I will need the help of a professional to achieve this look.  I’m looking forward to my bridal trial to see how I will look with something similar, but I was a bit concerned about getting the full effect (without updo) the first time I try on my wedding dress.

Fortunately, I came across a great method that put a squash to my worries: The Sock Bun!   This method is really simple and I learned how to do it myself by watching this video.

The look doesn’t have the curls that that I’m envisioning, but it definitely has the volume. The sock bun will really help “get my head in the right place” so I can get the whole bridal effect when trying on veils!
