stay true to yourself

Posted on May 1, 2012 by  David   //   Comment

Your goal on your wedding day is to be a slightly more charming version of yourself and not a woman who’s playing the role of a bride. The key here is to not use an amount of make-up, hair product and styling and accessories where you can’t recognize the girl looking back in the mirror.  When you stay true to yourself, the first thing to be noticed will always be you.

makeup inspiration ~ Adele

Yes, she is absolutely stunning, but she also knows how to totally rock the sexy cat eye and soft lip color look that I can’t help but be in love with.  Just enough drama yet still looks natural.

The Power of Purple

Posted on February 13, 2012 by  Miss Traditional Bride   //   Comment

I have been wearing makeup ever since I have been old enough. Over the years I have discovered I have a love for eyeshadow and I am always playing with different colors.  In high school I discovered purple eyeshadow.  I loved/love how the purple eyeshadow brings out the green in my hazel eyes, and I immediately knew I wanted purple to be my inspiration for my wedding makeup.  Now, I am off to the makeup department with my picture in hand.  Stay tuned for the before and after pictures…

Lets FACE it

OK, lets all face the fact we all want to look our absolute best on our wedding day and we all know we have little imperfections we want to cover up. I tend to have random breakouts all the time. So I went searching to find the best way to cover it up and it seems to be that airbrush makeup is the best way to go. I love how even the skin comes out! I went to one of my fave photo sites, www.projectwedding.com and came across some absolutely beautiful pictures of makeup applications for the wedding day…

Best Face Forward for the Wedding

Posted on September 25, 2011 by  Miss Dreamer Bride   //   Comment

Like every bride, my dream is to look amazing on my wedding day. I want to feel great, look great, and have the best possible day. I have spent a lot of time thinking about every last detail of our big day; from the flowers to the food, and the music to the attire… now it’s time to focus on my overall look.

Too often I have heard brides complain that their wedding photos don’t look anything like they look in real life. So keeping that in mind I have decided that I don’t want to stray too far from my normal look; I want to look like me, just the best possible version of me!

For my bridal makeup I want to create a similar look to what these ladies have done. I love their shimmery/smoky dramatic eye makeup, their sun-kissed glow and slightly rosy cheeks, and their subtle natural lip color.

Here are some photographs of some of my favorite overall makeup styles.

Rachel McAdams

Charlize Theron

Kate Hudson

Hayden Panettiere

Now I’m headed out to my favorite make-up retailers to begin assembling my look… stay tuned for more!
