Statement Necklaces

Posted on May 12, 2012 by  Miss Independent Bride   //   Comment

Now that I have my beautiful Sophia Tolli dress, I am beginning to visualize what accessories I will be able to add to make it my own, unique dress. I’m not letting anyone (outside of a few select people) see my dress before our wedding, but I will give one hint: I’ll be making a wardrobe change before the reception and I’m very, very excited about it! Unfortunately, you will have to wait just a little over 6 months to find out what it is!

That being said, I really want to wear a statement necklace for the reception as my dress has just a little bit of beading on the neckline. The princess style necklace seems to be my favorite and I have found a few options that I love and am left to make a decision on what bling I want for the big day!

Should I go all bling like this beautiful piece from Annabellagio?

A little art-deco with some pearls?

Vintage with a ribbon-tie closure?

Or, bold with this detailed, pearl and rhinestone combination?

Better yet, how about one of each?!

engagement rings with a vintage feel

Posted on April 29, 2012 by  David   //   1 Comment

Vintage style engagement rings have become a new trend, but the false perception out there is that you have to find a ring that’s actually old. You can really just find a ring that’s new that has a vintage style to it. Case in point, here are some rings from my bridal jewelry line with a vintage feel to them.

Keep in mind that if you do buy an actual vintage ring, it’s important to get a letter of authenticity and also check to make sure the stones are safe in the setting because–remember–you’ll be wearing this ring for the rest of your life.

Dream bigger ~ David

Picking out wedding day jewelry is just one of those little details that makes a large impact on finishing the bridal look. I have been on the lookout for something that will accent my beautiful David Tutera for Mon Cheri strapless wedding gown perfectly!  I want something simple that will bring a little bit of sparkle to my look.. but something that I could wear again. I think that Hillberg & Berk, a locally owned company, can help me with this!

My uber favorites… The Spring Sparkle Ball earrings! I think these are a MUST HAVE.. and would be great for both the bride and bridesmaids!

Wedding Bands

Posted on January 31, 2012 by  Miss Nostalgic Bride   //   Comment

So Greg and I were up last night looking at wedding bands.

We both settled on three choices a piece and decided we will go in and see what they look like in person before making a final decision.

We started discussing getting our rings engraved. I love the idea and it’s actually one of the first things he has had a solid opinion about ever since we started talking about the wedding. Not that it was hard to convince me, but now we have to decide exactly what to engrave.

We threw around a few ideas and I started Googling…

We could go with our wedding vows, or maybe even a verse from a poem? Possibly a love letter?

Or maybe just a single word

Our wedding date seems like the obvious choice, but I like the idea of using the day we met. If I was smart, I would use our wedding date so that Greg never forgets the anniversary!

Or we could just inscribe our names into each others rings.

And for something a little different…

We could engrave our wedding rings with each others fingerprints!

Whichever we choose, engraving our wedding bands is one easy way to personalize our rings and also serves a secret symbol of our love. Stay tuned, in a month or so we’ll be finalizing our choice and you’ll find be the first to find out what we have decided to go with!
