swoosh him off his feet

Posted on May 8, 2012 by  Miss Peacock Bride   //   Comment

As the weather starts to heat up I am really thankful that I have a party dress to change into that will allow me to dance the night away unrestricted. It only seems fair that my groom should feel a similar freedom by the end of our wedding night. So what wedding gift could I possibly get for my groom that would offer him that comfort and keep him styling until the last dance?

I found the solution at Nike ID, a web application that allows anyone to custom design their very own sneakers. This is the perfect wedding gift for David as he digs a fly pair of kicks.

I am loving how my design for David came together. Luckily for him there were no peacock feather designs offered, but the stick graphic pattern is one I know he’ll approve of. I was even able to add text to the straps to really add a personal touch.

If you are looking for a wedding gift for you’re sneaker-loving groom head over to Nike ID and try out your own custom design. The application is easy to use and the design possibilities are endless.

Astor & Black

I’m a big fan of Astor & Black and I am so excited for the clothes they’re currently making for me.  It’s hard as a guy to have fashion that’s memorable and not boring.  Astor & Black is not just making suits but they’re creating incredible fashion in the process. It’s all in their details:  the coloring, the stitching, the prints and the lining, the finishes of the buttons…this is a way to finally give guys and your groom a really cool look that’s hip yet still sophisticated.

xo,

David

You make the sun shine.. when suits are grey!

I love our wedding colors.. I love our wedding colors….

Every now and then I find an idea that instantly makes me want to adapt our wedding colors… this time, it’s grey suits. I never really liked the idea of straying from a traditional black suit, but you just have to look at these photos to see how outstanding the men look. My new obsession is definitely grooms in fashionable grey suits. *swoon*

YEP. MMMmm Hmmm.. Dreamy!

There is jsut something so sleek and handsome about them. I think they would be PERFECT for a spring or summer wedding…. Who’s with me?!

Indochino

Posted on February 16, 2012 by  Miss Independent Bride   //   Comment

Ever since my fiancé moved across the pond, there has certainly been a culture shock to some things European. From Washer Dryers to Punting, it’s been quite the experience; however, a company called Indochino (introduced by his wonderful friend from Belgium) may be the first European fad to appear in the wedding.

The website allows you to order custom suits and have them shipped FREE to your home in 3 weeks or less (yes, even if you don’t live in Europe!). There is an entire section for all things wedding and everyday items, such as cufflinks, ties, dress pants, coats, etc. From what we have heard, everything is of the highest quality and customer service is fabulous.

Personalizing the items is also a possibility.

He is contemplating ordering custom dress shirts for all of the groomsmen in the wedding and possibly even ordering his own custom tux within the next few weeks. I will be sure to update on any of our own personal experiences with Indochino!

Men in Purple

With the wedding one month away, Matt is working on his to-do list, and on Saturday Matt decided to tackle the tux rentals.  Before leaving for Al’s Formal Wear, he asked for the exact colors of the wedding, what color the bridesmaids were wearing and what color were the bouts (He is so cute!).  Armed with this information, Matt and one of his groomsmen were off.  When he came back, I went into question overload.  He said, “Since I do not know what your dress looks like, I am not going to tell you what my tux looks like.”  I debated it was not the same thing.  But despite my pleading, all he gave up is that he decided to go with purple accents.  He decided on purple because that is the color of the bridesmaids dresses.  I can not wait to see Matt on March 3rd all dressed to the nines, but until then my only constellation is knowing that whatever he wears he looks good in!
