I have known for quite some time that I want to choose one main color for my bridesmaids to wear, and then have them select a unique dress in a shade of that color. However, it has taken me forever to decide which hue to choose. Since my wedding colors are blue, yellow and red/orange/pink, I started with those options. Here was my thought process:
Blue. This classic color would be a great choice, but we are getting married in a light blue room and I do not want the wedding party to blend into the walls. Blue was a no-go.
Yellow. This is one of my all-time favorite colors, but I know it is not the most flattering on all skin tones. I want to make sure that the dress my bridesmaids purchase is something they might wear again, so I decided to save yellow for an accent color.
Red/orange/pink. If this color is too difficult for me to even put into words, I cannot imagine how hard/stressful it would be to find a dress in this hue.
With all three of our main wedding colors out, I decided to go with a neutral color. So, I am opting for my bridesmaids to wear dresses in a shade of gray. By adding yellow shoes and bright flowers, I hope the overall effect will look modern, pretty and summery. Here are some pictures that helped me make my final decision:

Speaking of bridesmaid fashion, I cannot wait to share my next post with you!

I love this color combo! I have been trying to convince my friend (who is getting married in August) to do this.
i really like the dress in the close up picture of the gray bridesmaid dress. could you tell me where that dress is from?
Hi Mia,
It looks like Miss Eclectic Bride credited the dress as a “Sarah Seven” dress. Not sure of the exactly style number/name though.
