Dun, Dun, Dun Dun.  It’s show time!

The ceremony was officiated by my youth minister, Brother Keith, and lasted about twenty-five minutes…it felt like five.

We decided to stay old school.  My brother played and sang “Fishing In The Dark,” by Alan Jackson during our candle lighting ceremony.  He did an incredible job, because many of the guests thought the song was a recording.

We walked out to “Signed, Sealed, Delivered.”  It’s party Time….

But not without a spin around the block first!

For our wedding day, Matt and I decided we wanted to see each other before the wedding. I loved the idea of being able to have a quite moment alone with my hubby-to-be before all the crazy wedding events started.  And boy was it a beautiful moment!

My heart was beating about a million beats per minute at that moment!  I think I was really trying to ketch my breath.  No turning back now…..he knows I’m here.

This moment captures my pure happiness. It was love at first sight.

This was one of the highlights of the day for me, because Matt just told me, “You are more beautiful than I imagined you would be.”

The first look allowed us to talk without people around, eliminate some of our nerves and tears, and really soak each other in.  And not for one moment did our first look decrease the impact of seeing him waiting for me down the aisle.

So, it has officially been three months since our wedding, and I dare to say it was pretty perfect!  I still look back at our wedding day, and think how handsome Matt looked in his tux, the tears cried from both our parents, and the love we felt from our closest family and friends.  I do not think there was one person who attended who did not come up to me or Matt to tell us how much fun they had or how beautiful the venue was.  But getting to that point all started with a dress…and oh what a dress it was!

The moment I stepped into my wedding dress, and my mom and bridesmaids started to lace the back, was a magical “Cinderella” moment.  I felt so beautiful.  I hope each and everyone of you have the same feeling on your wedding day!  Below are some of my favorite pre-wedding pictures that showcase my dress.

I do not know who started the trend, but they are geniuses!  Needless to say, I am obsessed with weddings that incorporate chalkboards or mirrors.  Not only is it more cost effective, but it is so pretty.  I have to incorporate this idea into my wedding!

Since I am not going to have seating arrangements at our wedding, I am going to have a mirrored menu placed by the bar at cocktail hour.  That way, my guests will know what is in store for them.  I can’t wait to see all the details come together!

Happy Valentine’s Day brides-to-be.  I am eighteen days away from affirming my love to my best friend, but many brides choose Valentine’s Day for their wedding date.  This is an obvious choice, and an anniversary hopefully no husband can forget!  Whether you take a modern or vintage approach to a Valentine’s Day wedding, it is simply stunning.

Even though I am not getting married on Feb 14th, I am taking a cue from Valentine’s Day for my wedding.  From the theme (Hooked on Love), to the heart cutouts the flower girls are dropping, to the photo booth backdrop.   For those who are just now reading my blog, I am creating a homemade photo booth for my wedding.  I am borrowing a cordless printer from my sister-in-law that is compatible with my digital camera, as well as, made some fun props a couple months back.  However, I have been struggling with an idea for the photo booth backdrop.  That is until today!  I found this picture, and even though it is a backdrop for the sign-in table, I thought it would be perfect for my photo booth!  I can just picture a group of friends or couples standing in front of the giant heart making silly faces and poses.  I know what I am doing this Saturday.  Is your wedding inspired by Valentine’s Day too?
