Hair Jewelry

Dress- check! Shoes- check! Now it’s onto accessories… including jewelry for my hair. I’ve been having an internal debate regarding this:  veil or no veil? flower or rhinestones? headband or hair comb?  There are so many options, I just wasn’t sure what to choose.  In the end, our location and my beautiful dress have helped me choose.  I want the hair jewelry to compliment my dress and work with our outdoor ceremony. So, I’ve narrowed it down to a few options: a rhinestone hair comb/clip or rhinestone headband.

These etsy finds by amoretto and portobello would be perfect for my updo.

These stunning Swarovski accessories are from DC based Enchanted Atelier.  And the gorgeous photos were taken by our amazing photographer, Laurie Bracewell!

Of course I could incorporate a Celtic touch too! Love these knot and trinity designs.

Tessa Kim makes this absolutely beautiful headband and hair comb.

Now I just have to decide which one of these to go with!

I found my man, but I still need my girls!

Every time a friend has asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding it was just an in person or over the phone question. Nothing big or special and so that is exactly how I asked my friends to be my bridesmaids. I never thought of doing anything special or cute but I saw some pictures today of fun ways you can ask those closest to you to be a part of your special day.

Here are some of my favorites.

Why don’t we just elope?

Posted on February 29, 2012 by  Miss Nostalgic Bride   //   Comment

I think as every bride gets into the thick of wedding planning, they start to ask themselves this question.

At least every bride I’ve ever spoken to.

It gets stressful, and I am starting to feel it. So many decisions, then money money money, and the time is ticking etc.

A friend of mine linked an elopement for me and ever since, the thought has been looming in my head. I likely will not elope, but had to share this one. It’s just too sweet and it isn’t your run of the mill Vegas shotgun wedding… it’s a New Yorker!
Watch the video:

NYC Elopement

They did manage to get their families in on it which I love.

And now check out the pics:

C’mon, tell me after all that you are not at least seriously considering an elopement of your own?

I know I am.

You can check out Lisa’s blog, In My Shoes for more details and for more pics see Lisa’s Pinboard.

If you are not on Pinterest yet, it’s simple. You can request an invite or ask one of your friends you know that is already on to invite you.

While you’re at it, find out how you can win your own wedding dress here.

I have known for a while what type of wedding I wanted but it is always interesting to look and see what is popular because you could always find new twists to some of your favorite ideas. Some friends of mine were talking about Pinterest and all the fun ideas they had seen on there. I had previously never even heard of the site so, I went to check it out and saw some really cute things on there, one of which is what is trending in weddings right now.

Nailed it!~

Posted on February 29, 2012 by  Miss Sparkly Bride   //   2 Comments

I’ve crossed off (most of) the major items off my to-do list.. so now I’m looking at the small details that will make our day extra special!

I’ve started to look at different options for nail polish. I absolutely love nail polish, especially after being a nail-bitter for years! While searching for fun and creative options that would be fit for a bride-to-be, I’ve come across the idea of an accent nail!~ Making that left ring finger feel extra special.. Can’t quite picture it? Let me show you….

I love this idea so much! I think doing something more dramatic (bright, fun crazy pattern) for your shower / bachelorette party… and then a little more glam and sparkly for the big day! I am dying to try the last manicure idea! LOVE!

What do you think of this accent finger tend… yay or nay?!
